DFI Interiors developed the complete interior and exterior material palette for this multi-million-dollar new construction residence in Lexington, MA, creating a continuous design language that carries from the architecture outside into the home.

Natural materials became an important part of that connection. Exterior stone was brought inside to create a striking feature wall—a focal point with presence, but one that feels inherently connected to the architecture rather than decorative. Throughout the residence, we selected materials for their texture, natural variation and character, allowing the inherent beauty and imperfections of stone, wood and other tactile surfaces to bring depth and individuality to the spaces.

Custom details add another layer of interest. In the dining room, we designed an integrated architectural light channel that creates a visual relationship between the decorative light fixture and a piece of art, transforming lighting into part of the composition itself. The result is a sophisticated, highly considered home where exterior and interior, architecture, materials and lighting work together as one cohesive experience.
