Our own curated shop, L'Atelier, is one beloved stop along that journey — stocking a handpicked selection of the hard-to-find home décor pieces we discover through our projects — but it is just one thread in a much richer sourcing tapestry. Color consultation & schemes

Color is one of the most transformative — and most misunderstood — elements in any interior. At DFI, we believe a truly beautiful home is never entirely neutral. It has a moment of unexpected sage green in the hallway, a blush linen sofa that anchors the living room, a deep lacquered door that makes you pause. We love color deeply, and one of our favorite things to do is help clients who think they are afraid of it discover just how alive their home can feel with the right touch in the right place. Dominique's European-trained eye  means every palette we develop is harmonious, layered, and built to feel timeless — never trendy, never overwhelming, always completely at home.

Texture is the soul of a warm interior. We source rugs and textiles from showrooms across the US and Europe — hand-knotted, vintage, custom-woven — to ground every room with depth and character.

How we work

1. Discovery & home walkthrough Every project begins with a complimentary discovery call — a chance to get to know each other, understand your vision, and explore what is possible. This is followed by a paid in-home consultation, where Dominique walks through your space with fresh eyes, taking in its architecture, light, and potential, and asking the questions that set the entire project on the right course.

2. Proposal & design agreement Based on our walkthrough, we present a thoughtfully prepared proposal outlining the full scope, timeline, and investment for your project. Every DFI client receives a comprehensive design agreement before work begins — complete clarity and transparency, always.

3. Design development This is where the vision takes shape. We develop detailed floor plans, design concepts, and color schemes, and begin the deep sourcing work that sets DFI apart — researching and selecting furniture, materials, finishes, and bespoke pieces from our extensive network of trade suppliers, custom workrooms, and European contacts.

4. Design execution With the design approved, we move into full project management mode. Dominique and the team oversee all trade partners and contractors, prepare construction documents, and manage every aspect of procurement — from placing orders to coordinating deliveries and scheduling — so that you never have to.

5. Installation & final styling The moment everything comes together. Our team handles every aspect of installation with the utmost care and white-glove precision, finishing each space with the thoughtful styling and accessorizing that transforms a beautifully designed room into a home that is unmistakably, joyfully yours.
